Get a Life!
By dotJenna

If you want to market your business on Facebook, you’ll have to get a life. Why? Because Facebook Marketing is about people connecting with other people. If marketing is your aim, you’ll have to attract lots of people without repelling them away. Attracting attention once is easy, but success in social marketing requires that you hold their attention long term. No one will care about what you have to offer if your every day life is lackluster, but people can’t get enough of you when you’re exciting, interesting and bursting with positive vibes.
Successful marketing through social media requires that you GET A LIFE!
You can become famous among those in your target market, and hold their attention brilliantly using social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook. Doing this requires many components, such as anticipating the needs of your audience and producing the content that they want, but there’s more. You must be an interesting person. The underlying rule of social media mirrors that of real life social situations. People say, “If I’m going to listen to you, you must be a person worth listening to.”
You have to bring your own energetic spark to the party.
How do you become more interesting?
Creating an interesting life is part of our jobs as individual human beings on this planet. It’s not easy to create a life that’s worthwhile, but it’s definitely achievable. Getting a life will not only help market your business, but will also change your life for the better. Engaging in all that life has to offer can help you become a more cultured, well-rounded person that people want to be around. You’ll like yourself better too. Using Facebook and it’s photo-sharing capabilities, you can share your new life with the masses.
Here’s a list of ways to become more interesting.
- Take time off from the dull routine of daily life to rejuvenate and refresh your soul by taking a vacation, a break or just a walk.
- Read books that interest you. Remember, “Readers are Leaders.”
- Join clubs that interest you such as book clubs, speaker groups, social groups, activism groups or travel clubs.
- Take up a new hobby such as dancing, yoga, fashion design or sewing.
- Host parties at your home or events out on the town. Invite people through social media.
- Join a church or religious organization.
- Try something you’ve never done before like snow skiing or hand gliding.
- Practice a new sport like soccer, softball, football or running.
- Improve your personal appearance by losing weight, buying new clothes or getting minor cosmetic surgery procedures done.
- Change jobs if you’re stuck in a dead-end rut.
- Volunteer for a cause you believe in.
- Travel to exotic places, or just around your state.
- Try new restaurants, attend local concerts and events.
- Become more social with like-minded people.
- Spend quality time with your family.
- Learn new social skills if necessary such as conversation skills, making friends or how to read body language.
- Listen to a variety of music that you never listened to before
- Stand on your head. Look at the world from new perspectives.
- Get counseling or therapy to get over your past issues.
- Release anger, resentment and unforgiveness against those who have wronged you, this will open your life to more positive relationships.
- Get a new job or find ways to increase your income.
- Organize your life physically, spiritually and emotionally.
- Read self-help books.
- Get out of chaotic life situations that are holding you back.
- Re-program childhood tapes in your mind that say you’re no good, or not worthy of a good life.
- Do an inventory of your life and resolve to do a better job at sharing those parts of your life that others may find interesting.
- Get over the notion that you have to be a movie star to be interesting. Reality TV profits from the mundane. You may be more exciting than you realize!
- Turn off the computer and go outdoors.
If your goal is to get a life, then you can achieve it, but it will take effort, time and persistence. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t become interesting over-night. Give yourself plenty of time to change into the person you want to become, and reward yourself along the way for small victories. Every day, do something towards your goal and one day you’ll wake up with the life you’ve always wanted–and be a person that others want to know.
