  • Marketing on Facebook

Marketing yourself on Facebook is different from any other types of marketing.

Make your Facebook Profile Personable. This is easy if you actually use your FB account for persnal reasons, but more difficult if you’re focusing on business. I have two accounts, one for personal and one for business. You don’t want to be too personal on your business-related Facebook, but you don’t want to be too-business either. You want to strike a happy balance. You want to appear real.

Get over your shyness about promoting yourself in a hurry. There are relationships to be forged through your interesting interaction with others.

Comments: Make sure you are really good at responding to comments. Don’t just gloss them over. They are crucial to your success and make you appear more alive and friendly.

Content: Your entire marketing platform stems from your quality content.

    Building your Channel

You need to build a channel of Facebook friends that match your service area. Doing so is as easy as finding names in the phone book, however, doing this recklessly can wreak havoc on your relationship with Facebook. Here’s some information about the FB Warnings:

    - Friend no more than 10 people each day.
    - If you get warnings and continue to friend people, you can be permanently banned .

    What are the Limits?:
Unfortunately, Facebook cannot provide any specifics on the rate limits that are enforced. Please know that the threshold at which you are warned is not a specific number, but rather determined by different factors, such as speed, time, and quantity.

    Building your Facebook Page

    - Add your phone number to the Info Section below your pic.

    - Add your website URL to the Info Section below your pic.

    - Add a picture of yourself, even if you’re building the page for your company. (People relate better with people photos.
