Web Video Preparation Tips

When preparing for your video to be shown on your website, there are many things you need to consider.

Clothing: Color makes the best impression on the web. You want something bright, but not too bright so that it distracts from what you want to say. If you wear all black, it may show up too dark on the video, so opt for rich colors and layers.

Make-Up: Your make-up will need to be a little thicker when you're doing a web video, and if you're a guy, you need make-up too. You don't look the same on video as you do day-to-day, this is especially true if your video will be on the web.

Hair: Make sure your hair is neat and trimmed. Your hair will appear more helmet-like on the web without variances and highlights. This makes the cut and style all-the-more important. Keep it out of your eyes!

Script: You need to create a brief script of what you want to say in your web video. If you're doing a longer web video, you'll of course need a longer script. Practice your script  in front of a mirror beforehand to prevent undue charges for studio time later.

Timing: It is recommended to keep your website videos under 30 seconds to make the most impact. You may consider longer videos for online training purposes.
